This gives the opportunity to take advantage of the cheap flights either side of the Christmas/New Year period

There are flights to Madeira from most British airports. We have found that the following airlines are the most economical. For their web sites, just click on the name of the airline (below) easyjet british air ways tap.pt (air Portugal). EasyJet is particularly cheap if you fly from Bristol airport and sometimes as low as £70 return. British Airways is particularly good from Gatwick airport and the flights can be as low as £100 return. Air Portugal (Tap) also flies from Gatwick airport and can also be quite economical. If you are flying from any other airport, we suggest you check with the above airlines. It is also possible to find at short notice, cheap flights to Madeira, but you will have to shop around.
